Carter County Shrine Club presents the 30th Annual Shriner's Bluegrass Festival running July 9-11 at the festival grounds behind Olive Hill Elementary School. Blue Highway appears on Sat Jul 10. Earl Scruggs Music Festival

Tryon International Equestrian Center, 4066 Pea Ridge Rd, Mill Spring, NC

Earl Scruggs, noted for popularizing a three-finger banjo picking style, was a defining characteristic of bluegrass music. This two-day event celebrating Scruggs is a collaboration between the Earl Scruggs Center located in Shelby, NC and WNCW radio station located on the campus of Isothermal Community College. The festival will include music from bluegrass, folk, and Americana styles.
